Welcome. I am a Counsellor and Psychotherapist, qualified to work with both Adults and Adolescents. My previous career as a critical care nurse supports my work in this area as it broadens my understanding of the many needs of my clients.

I use an integrative therapy approach, combining Humanistic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). All through a Neurodiversity informed lens. What you can expect is a warm, compassionate, confidential and non-judgemental space. Together we can work towards challenging learned patterns of behaviour that no longer serve you and developing helpful coping strategies which will instil confidence in your own ability.

Therapy for teenagers: Being young has particular challenges. As we develop, we strive to make sense of the world around us, our relationships and ourselves. With the developing nature of early years, these challenges can pose additional questions and concerns. As a professional Adolescent therapist, I am trained to listen for and work with the particular issues that teenagers routinely face. Working in tandem with parents I strive to strengthen family relationships. Adolescent therapy is a form of psychotherapy that helps those who are experiencing difficulties with their emotions and behaviour. It can help them to resolve their conflicts and emotional anxieties, regulate their emotions and improve their self-esteem.

Neurodiversity-informed practice in counselling is an approach that recognizes and values neurological differences—such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and others—as natural variations of human experience rather than deficits to be “fixed.” In this framework, I work from a strengths-based perspective, focusing on understanding the unique ways clients think, feel, and interact with the world. I emphasize collaboration, flexibility, and adapting therapeutic methods to suit individual needs rather than forcing clients to conform to neurotypical norms. This might include adjusting communication styles, pacing, sensory environments, and therapeutic tools to create a safe, respectful, and empowering space. Ultimately, neurodiversity-informed counselling promotes acceptance, self-advocacy, and well-being by validating clients’ lived experiences and supporting them in navigating challenges while celebrating their strengths.

Why choose Therapy?

Difficulties and distress can arise in anyone's life at any time. Seeking additional support can be invaluable. Whether you're facing stress, anxiety, challenges in your personal or professional life, feelings of isolation,,sadness, loss, or struggling with self-worth, therapy can offer a safe, secure and empathic environment. Even with the support of  friends, it may still be difficult to cope and function effectively. Sometimes it may be easier to talk with an independent person.

I believe that everyone can overcome their challenges, grow, flourish and ultimately become the person they want to be. In therapy we can navigate overwhelming thoughts and emotions, enabling you to progress towards a brighter future. The first step is recognising that you’re struggling. The second is to look for help. As daunting as this feels, it can be a huge weight off your mind. It will help you take back your power and put yourself back in control. My aim is to lighten your burden, help you feel proactive again and instil hope for the future.
